After studying engineering at ETH Zurich, Stephan Wartmann worked as a project manager in the USA and as a start-up manager in Japan. He completed his EMBA at the University of St. Gallen and in California before he globalized the Geobrugg Group as CEO from 2003-2013 with production sites on all continents. He has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2014 and CEO of the BRUGG Group since 2019, which generates sales of 670 MCHF with 2200 employees. The main areas of the BRUGG Group are district heating technology, process control technology for supply (e.g. water, waste water, gas, electricity), special cables for e-mobility and wind power, lightweight construction and cable architecture, elevator and lifting equipment, transport railways and protection systems against natural hazards. The company has 19 production sites and 17 sales organizations in the world's most important industrialized countries.Stephan Wartmann is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pestalozzi Group, Board of Directors of the SEFAR Group, Wälli AG Ingenieure, Swiss Light Source Techno Trans AG (PSI/ETH) and Wartmann Immobilien AG.
