Supervised four dog handlers on seven wind farm projects in Minnesota and California. Dog teams were tasked with locating avian and bat carcasses on wind energy projects. Data QA/QC and year-end report writing. Client interfacing. Survey and searcher efficiency trial scheduling.

Trained and handled detection dogs to detect mortalities on wind farms

Facilitated more than 200 Worker Environmental Awareness Program trainings for more than 1000 workers on the Cleveland National Forest Project, a large-scale transmission line project in San Diego County, CA. Trainings provided per the project's Mitigation Monitoring, Compliance, and Reporting Program as required by the California Public Utility Commission's Environmental Impact Statement Record of Decision. Created curriculum, improved presentation, tracked attendance, and coordinated with project Fire Marshal and Safety Coordinator to integrate all project trainings trainings. Performed QA/QC and technical editing on daily construction monitoring reports before submitting to client. Compiled SWPPP reports for submission to NPDES.

Provided general environmental compliance support to the construction contractor during the construction of a 37-mile 500/230kv transmission line project. Maintained Maricopa County dust permit and collaborated with crews to find the most effective and efficient ways to comply with the dust permit and SWPPP. Trained crews on hazmat storage and disposal, and conducted soil testing on contaminated soil to determine most appropriate method of haz waste disposal. Implemented nesting deterrent and take avoidance measures during nesting bird season, including the successful use of a visual barrier to protect a killdeer nest that was located in close proximity to active heavy equipment. In partnership with the client and a sensitive plants expert, determined the salvage status of more than 1000 saguaro cactuses and arranged for their removal and/or storage.

As an interdisciplinary team member during the NEPA process, review Plans of Operation, Plans of Development, EAs, EISs, Categorical Exclusions, and Determinations of NEPA Adequacy for regulatory compliance and impact to wildlife habitat. Main focus was compliance with the regulatory framework surrounding greater sage-grouse habitat management. Projects included avian-safe powerlines, various mining efforts, telecommunications sites, and geothermal. Received a score of 5/5 (Exceptional) on annual review for "Serving Communities" element, which included fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Led planning and facilitation efforts for National Public Lands day trail clean-up and geocaching event and 6th Grade Environmental Day.

Managed environmental compliance efforts for PAR Electrical Contractors during the Eldorado-Ivanpah Transmission Project, a 36-mike two-state linear wood-to-steel and new build project. Guided construction management in the implementation of all mitigation measures outlined in the FEIR/EIS, Plan of Development, CA and NV SWPPPs, Clark County Dust Control Permit, and other federal, state, and local permits and regs. Developed an Avian Nesting Season Mitigation Plan for construction personnel and guided staff in its implementation. Advised and guided construction leadership and crews on desert tortoise take avoidance measures. Drafted variances to federal documents as need to allow for project progress. Trained and supervised six environmental scientists tasked with providing in-field support to construction personnel. Initiated and developed an ongoing short seminar program to advise construction leadership about environmental compliance issues and mitigation strategies. Coordinated hazardous waste clean up, storage, and disposal. Collaborated with various stakeholders to ensure project success, including project owner, owner's engineer, biomonitoring consultants, and natural resource agencies.

Provided environmental field compliance to the construction contractor on the Sunrise Powerlink Project, an EIS-level transmission line project. Identified, cleaned up, stored, and arranged for disposal of hazardous waste per the project's SPCC. Monitored dust emissions and implemented and evaluated dust control measures. Installed nesting bird deterrents and collaborated with crews and biomonitors to avoid nesting bird take.

Conducted reconnaissance- and protocol-level surveys for burrowing owl, least Bells vireo, nesting birds, raptors. Monitored construction activity at a substation new build to advise on take avoidance for nesting birds and special status plant species.
