I have the distinguished title of being the first African-American, first female, and first person of color, to be promoted to the position of Chief investigator for the Alameda County Public Defender's Office. As a seasoned Criminal Justice Administration professional with 34 plus years of “boots on the ground” experience in criminal defense investigations, I am a genuine yet persuasive communicator with a natural ability to relate to members of diverse populations, and those from multi-cultural backgrounds, and a variety of socio-economic levels. I am an expertly skilled and effective interviewer with superior knowledge of investigative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and evaluating evidence, and other relevant information. Currently, I lead, supervise, manage, train and support a team of 20 dynamic, conscientious, highly skilled investigators who are dedicated to serving our clients in a manner that serves and supports our holistic criminal defense practice.
