After 13 years in the classroom at both the elementary and high school setting as a Special Education teacher, I have stepped away from the classroom and into the role as Carolina Supply Inc's Community and Customer Relations Coordinator.While teaching I served on numerous committees throughout my tenure and was the advisor for the school-based Autism Team, Student Government, Senior Class and the Anti-Bullying Program. I coordinated numerous events including Homecoming, Prom, Graduation and Senior Nights and assisted with Open House and Freshmen Tours. I worked with the school base counselors and Central Office staff to coordinate schedules in order to serve students with disabilities within our school. I taught a diverse group of developmentally challenged students using effective and differentiated instruction. Modified general education curriculum for special-needs students using various instructional techniques and technologies.I have taken these skills out of the classroom and into the Plumbing Industry. I work closely with different charitable organizations within the communities in which we have our store fronts to provide and give back to those communities. I work with our vendors and manufacturers to create events, trainings, etc. for our customers and I run our Social Media accounts in order to get our name out into the communities not only to bring in customers but to also showcase what is happening in our community and industry. When I am not at my full-time job, I continue to work part-time at a local restaurant where I handled guest complaints, calculated charges, issue table checks and take customer payments. I work to maintain a positive team environment by encouraging teamwork and respect.
