Here at the Carvalho Family Business, we strive for excellence and harmony of coordination in all we do.By using animal behavior experience that has been around since 1958, and performance production experience that has been around 1975 our dedicated team-oriented staff creates shows that are custom tailored for each specific location.---- What We Do ----Carvalho's Friends of a Feather presents birds in flight and song around the world. By combining entertainment, education, positive reinforcement, mental and physical enrichment, and superb show production, we create experiences that remind our audiences of the gifts we share in the birds of the world. In 2007 we facilitated the inclusion of additional animal species into our presentations.Each one of our birds receives a specialized diet in order to sustain their physical wellbeing. Some of the types of birds we work with are (but not limited to): 1) Parrots (Macaws, Cockatoos, African Greys, Amazons, etc...)2) Aquatic Birds (Pelicans, Darters, Herons, Storks, etc...)3) Birds of Prey (Condors, Hawks, Eagles, Falcons, Owls, etc...)4) Miscellaneous Species (Cassowaries, Hornbills, Rollers, Toucans etc...)We educate our audiences regarding avian habitat, behaviors, and relevant and interesting characteristics and facts pertaining to each species. We demonstrate natural behaviors often seen only in the wild, and inform our audiences about the challenges that face many of our rapidly vanishing species. We entertain our audiences through trained and natural behaviors that demonstrate each bird's natural and comic behaviors. Each production includes, scripting, musical and sound effects, appropriate trainer costuming, and expert show direction. We are also happy to provide advice and assistance in the design of appropriate set, stage, and backstage design to assure the best environment for the show and on-site housing of the birds.
