Implementing a formal development project structure has significantly improved the quality of software releases, which in turn has increased stakeholder satisfaction and decreased post-release fixes.I have been involved in several smaller projects. One project has been to improve customer service functionality on the existing bespoke order processing system. The additional functionality provided the ability to capture data and present it in a more structured format to service the customers better. Another is to add in validation rules into the order processing system to ensure more accurate data is captured and in the correct format. The final project was to build a software module for our retentions team to automate their workflow and distribute contact details for customers coming to the end of their service agreements. Prior to this module being completed this was a manual process with information being distributed and managed from spreadsheets. The software has delivered enormous efficiencies and greater accuracy in analysing sales statistics. Show less

I worked on two separate projects. One involved small changes to insurance products and applying any necessary fixes. I was responsible for raising change requests for evolving issues, as well as eliciting and documenting the business requirements for two new work streams. The other involved creating presentation packs for key stakeholder meetings, developing processes for various departments and compiling a computer based training course for the affected operational teams.

I played a key role in a £1.5 million Big Bang migration project that involved the transfer of data for the Finland book of business (approximately 80,000 plans) to an external client, following the Part VII transfer and sale of the business. I provided customer service support for Swedish clients and brokers. I administered new business and post issue business for the Finland and Sweden teams. Additionally I translated Swedish medical documents for the Underwriting department. Through this role I developed system, product and company structure knowledge, as well as further improved my communication skills.
