The Epilepsy Center of Excellence (ECoE) is a comprehensive national program within the Department of Veterans Affairs comprised of 16 hospital sites nationwide. The mission of the ECoE is to improve the health and well-being of Veterans with epilepsy through the integration of clinical care, outreach, research, and education. The San Francisco site houses the clinical and administrative leadership.Responsibilities include:- Provide evidence-based epilepsy care to Veterans in outpatient clinic, inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit, telephone clinic, and video-teleconferencing clinic- Program Manager of SCAN-ECHO- a new, groundbreaking VA service that provides patient consultation from epilepsy's multi-disciplinary health care team to other health care providers in the VA through video-teleconferencing- Facilitator of the Epilepsy Center of Excellence National Nursing Workgroup. The workgroup develops standardized nursing protocols and training materials to distribute nationwide and innovative patient education materials- Trained 30+ RNs who care for Veterans in the inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit on seizure monitoring and response protocols and implemented annual competency of epilepsy nursing skills- Member of a Root Cause Analysis team in March 2014 to review sentinel event in the SFVA epilepsy monitoring unit and give recommendations for systems improvement- Co-facilitator of UCSF’s support group for Chinese patients with epilepsy

- Primary care provider for the underserved Asian immigrant population at the NEMS Portola clinic, NEMS has 7 clinics in the San Francisco Bay Area- Clinical champion for Population Management Program which uses multidisciplinary health care teams to improve patient health quality measures
