Gallery Facilitator
Curatorial Intern
I conduct insurance valuation research for the Walters Art Museum's Etruscan, Greek, and Roman objects. From the data, I make recommendations to the curator about the insurance value of ancient collection objects. To increase the Walters Art Museum's online presence and improve the quality of material available to the public online, I edit various ancient topic Wikipedia pages to include relevant examples from the Walters Art Museum's collection.
Curatorial Intern
I conducted inventories of galleries in the Capitoline Museums' Palazzo Nuovo. Using smartphone applications, I documented over 400 objects on display in the museum and then matched them to their corresponding collection numbers. This inventory involved researching collection records in the museum archives and drafting reports for curatorial staff when corrections and updates to object records needed to be made. Objects that had no labels identifying their collection number and objects that had no discernible collection numbers were tagged with Near Field Communication labels for better tracking and future designations. The data from the smartphone application was exported to other museum staff CSV files.During the internship, I also copy-edited several English language labels that the museum makes available to visitors online. The goal was to make the labels, which were written by native Italian speakers, more fluid and logical in English.Conducted regular checks of the museum's Near Field Communication labels that were installed in the museum as part of a visitor interactive program.
Business Process Management Support
I have helped to maintain a SharePoint site with updated policies and documents. I havve performed audits of SDD's artifact creation against their business plans. I have also edited various process documents to improve their readability.
Intern
I was responsible for manually reviewing the several thousand individual files belonging to the orphen children of the Indiana State Board of Charities from the late 1800's and early 1900's. I compared the names in the files with those that were recorded in the archive's online database from thw 1970's. I made numerous corrctions to the database to enable the public to better locate individuals with files at the State Archive.I was also responsible for cleaning coal dust from Indiana State Supreme Court cases from the 1800's. Once the documents were cleaned, I would flatten them, re-file them and record detailed information about the case that would be included in an online database of the cases.
Intern
I processed from start to finish the Abraham Lincoln busts, statues, and figurines the museum had recently acquired. I was responsible for recording the pieces' basic information, provenance, and initial condition report in the museum database, MIMSY. I also assigned all the pieces accession numbers and labeled the objects accordingly. I also photographed every piece, edited the photos, and uploaded them the museum's database, MIMSY.
Contracts And Accounting Assistant
I helped to process company employee expense reports. I was also assigned the processing of a few contractor invoices. I also archived old reports and created several travel expense guides.
