Overseeing daily activities of outbound sales orders with order management and freight negotiation, I ensure customer orders are delivered to agreed specifications and timelines, in collaboration with Leadership, Sales and Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain teams. Determining the freight budget and maintaining the freight rates of vendors and customers, I negotiate favorable terms and pricing with carriers. Monitoring the performance of outsourced freight providers, I ensure their adherence to agreed service level agreements (SLAs). Reviewing transportation market conditions, I analyze freight accrual and invoice reports, and conduct freight payment audits. Identifying opportunities to improve order fulfilment processes, I deliver positive change plus execute annual performance evaluations and produce reports for senior leadership. Submitting carrier claims and addressing customer order disputes, I issue credit notes and direct customer distribution, maximizing efficiency, and overcoming roadblocks. I acted as Receiving Manager and Shipping Supervisor and organized and hosted Annual Carrier Conferences, as part of carrier maintenance and accountability, where carriers provided annual reviews and successes, failures, and areas of opportunities were discussed. I sourced and negotiated contracts with up to 50 carriers per year and participate in warehouse contract negotiations. I hosted transportation calls with leadership and 3PL to provide direction on the market and executed extensive research and market analysis to determine projected freight costs during customer bid opportunities. Tailoring processes tailored for each client, I enhance customer experiences, build trust, and forge long-term relationships. I cover for the Director of Supply Chain Logistics in his absence and stay informed on warehousing, inventory, shipping and receiving activities, attending daily meetings with other functions to help solve problems enterprise-wide.
