I established and led the MEDLIFE chapter at UC Merced, creating a successful organization focused on healthcare education, community service, and student support. I organized and facilitated regular meetings on vital topics such as medical school preparation, mental health workshops, and career development, while planning and executing community service initiatives to engage and support underserved communities. Utilizing tools like Excel and Google Forms, I efficiently tracked attendance and managed club data to maintain smooth operations. By fostering a collaborative and empowering environment, I helped students pursue careers in healthcare while giving back to their communities, successfully growing membership and sustaining a thriving organization.

As a paid research assistant in the Carolin Franks Microbial Symbiosis Lab, I collaborate with PhD student Chris Bivins to study plant-fungi ecological interactions in the Sierra Foothills. My work involves conducting field research to discover and identify new fungal species, sequencing fungal DNA, and constructing phylogenetic trees to explore their evolutionary histories. I also mentor undergraduate students in laboratory techniques such as DNA extraction, PCR, and gel electrophoresis, while developing advanced technical and analytical skills to contribute to impactful research on fungal biodiversity and ecology.

Provided compassionate and personalized care to a 62-year-old quadriplegic woman by assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. Managed household tasks, including laundry and tidying, to maintain a clean and comfortable environment. Organized and set up weekly medications, demonstrating strong time-management and problem-solving skills to meet her unique needs. Built a trusting relationship that fostered comfort in her daily routine.

As a Post-Operative Home Health Care Aide, I provided compassionate care to a 79-year-old woman recovering from arthroplasty. I assisted with daily tasks such as showering, meal preparation, and grocery shopping, while managing the setup and maintenance of her APAP machine for proper usage and comfort. I also picked up prescriptions and ensured timely medication administration, supporting her recovery by promoting mobility, independence, post op exercises and adherence to care routines. Through empathetic, patient-centered care, I fostered a safe and supportive home environment.

Mentored middle school students from underserved communities, primarily Black and Latino, in STEM-focused activities aimed at fostering creativity, curiosity, and academic growth. Taught stop-motion animation, integrating technology and art through hands-on learning experiences. Inspired students to explore STEM careers by sharing personal experiences and providing guidance on future educational opportunities. Collaborated with STEM middle school teachers to create an inclusive, supportive, and impactful learning environment.
