I am currently working as the Compliance Specialist for Bertie County Schools Exceptional Children's Department. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to overseeing CECAS (Comprehensive Exceptional Children's Accountability System) our database for IEP's; running reports for student count submissions, monitoring IEP's while in the process of meeting, attending IEP meetings, auditing and monitoring EC records, providing EC teachers and other school personnel with PD on CECAS, Compliance and Monitoring updates, highlights, and changes, as they occur. I also provide support to the teachers as it relates to compliance and monitoring of EC policies and procedures.

As a Coordinator of the Exceptional Children's Department, I oversee the EC teachers throughout the county. I monitor IEP compliance, meet with parents and students as needed, facilitate monthly professional development, and conduct classroom visits to provide support to teachers weekly.

I taught the OCS Core classes for the EC Dept as well as Learning Strategies for EC students. I also was Case Manager for the records of my students and IEP Chairperson for the school.
