I’m a critical player in the development of solutions on multiple bids with tight deadlines. I work on pricing, legal, staffing, competitive analysis as well as review and edit contracts before sign- off. I had two direct reports and a team of contractors in this role. I worked with two different states on various aspects related to establishing their statewide healthcare exchanges. Both states opted for federal funding to run health exchanges as opposed to utilizing the federal health exchange.

I started here as Manager Trainee when it was still ACS State Healthcare. My first manager position introduced me to Medicaid operations. I managed the Florida Medicaid Recipient Services Department. I did so well in this role and developed an in-depth understanding of Medicaid that I was quickly promoted to claims operations manager on the Florida Medicaid Account. This is where I cut my teeth in Medicaid claims operations. KEY ACHIEVEMENTS◆ In this role, I was overseeing prescription delivery services for three states spanning the Pharmacy Prior Authorization Call Center, Smart PA Rules Management and Lock-In. I also oversaw the RFP capture teams on proposal writing, costs and pricing as well preparation of client presentations.

By the time I was promoted to this role, the company had been acquired by Xerox State Healthcare. Senior leadership requested that I work on the RFP for Medi-Cal, a project valued at $1.5 billion to the company. I was named as Claims Director in the RFP.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS◆ I created the solution for claims processing including design, pricing and team selection. ◆ We were awarded the contract in 2010. I oversaw the project throughout its 17-month duration and stayed on through post go-live at the client’s request.

Responsible for the successful turnover and shut down of Florida Medicaid project.
