About Stephanie Hoban

Currently I have over seven years experience as Director of Educational Technology, overseeing and implementing all technology initiatives and the technology budget. My core competencies include technology integration, innovation, curriculum development, and public speaking.My mission is to use technology to advance learning and prepare students with the skills necessary to succeed in a future we can only imagine. Educational leaders need to help teachers become innovators and facilitators by understanding what can be accomplished with technology and encouraging them in this endeavor by modeling their communication and leadership. Some initiatives I have established to empower teachers and students with technology include monthly newsletters, feedback programs, skills-based assessments, differentiated training, and the Innovative Learning Program.

    As a classroom teacher, I focused on the values of Universal Design for Learning because many of my students had language based disabilities, and I believed that good teaching is teaching for everyone. My innovative use of technology helped me achieve this goal. Two tech tools that helped me achieve this goal was my early adoption of Smart Notebook and Gsuite. As early as 2008, I mandated that all students create a Gmail account to encourage collaboration and better organization. I wrote all my class notes on Smart Notebook, turned them into PDFs and added them immediately to my class website to help students better understand the material.
