Role as Library Director includes overseeing operating budget, managing library collections, including selecting all library material according to policies approved by the board, managing cataloging and automated library systems. My duties also include overseeing the general maintenance of library facility and equipment. I am also part of the hiring process as well as providing training opportunities, and supervising library staff. As the representative of the library, I have the honor of establishing effective partnership within the community as well as their organizations, schools, and leaders. Two programs that I would like to highlight that I am overseeing include:1. Family Place Programming – This is a great program that promotes early literacy. 2. Nature Explore Classroom – In 2013, this outside nature classroom was created at the library to promote learning opportunities outside of the classroom. With is area children are able to interact with nature, have fun, while learning.

• Managed workflow and coordinated processing and acquisition of all materials. • Create original catalog records for monographs, and visual media formats • Copy catalog monographs and visual media formats • Assign Library of Congress Subject Headings and Dewey Decimal Classification numbers• Maintain and created MARC records according to AACR2 standards.• Evaluate collection for currency, condition and appearance• Acquire and maintain multiple formats of materials consistent with the library collection development strategic goals.• Developed and implemented policies and procedures.

• Manage a library budget over $300,000.• Supervise, design, and implement training programs for new employees, volunteers, and community service workers• Developed and revised library policies and procedures.• Provide Library Director and Youth Services Librarian with assistance in applying for grants, and fulfilling grant goals and visions after funds have been received. • Maintain and utilize automated acquisition, catalog, and circulation systems.• Provide reference services by utilizing various search techniques with printed and online resources.• Create and assist in library programming for kids, teens and adult patrons.• Provide reference and reader’s advisory services • Provide classroom instruction for adult patrons
