Computational Nuclear Physics

Teaching undergraduate physics labs including: mechanics for non-physics majors, mechanics for scientists (calculus based), circuits for non-physics majors, and circuits for scientists (calculus based). We cover basic physics concepts ranging from simple harmonic motion, collisions, conservations laws, Newtonian mechanics, basic circuit set up, and E/M fields. So far I have taught 6 courses during the Fall and Spring semester and will be teaching two more accelerated courses over the summer sessions.

The Parallel Computing Summer Research Internship is an intense 10 week program aimed at providing students with a solid foundation in modern high performance computing (HPC) topics integral with research on real problems encountered in large-scale scientific codes.Contributed to work on Distributed Memory Implementation of Coupled Cluster: In this work we explore performance and parallelization strategies for Coupled Cluster, a method for approximately solving properties of quantum, many-body systems. By exploiting symmetries of the physical system, efficient implementations of Couple Cluster involve the creation, storage, and multiplication of large block-diagonal matrices

I worked in a 5th grade classroom helping teach science and the scientific method to kids through astronomy.

I worked with 2 different professors over the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 helping proctor exams, run scantrons, input grades and hand grade short answer problems.

Worked 1 night a week from Spring 2012 until Spring 2013 in the SFSU Observatory located on campus. Primarily assisted introductory astronomy students in completing their required assignment of viewing 3 objects in 3 different telescopes. Worked with two 12" and one 16" Cassegrain Schmidt design telescopes, both azi-alt paddle and computer based control systems. We primarily focused on planets when visible, open clusters, binary stars and nebula.
