About Stephanie Leitch

As a dedicated activist-scholar with over 15 years of lived experience in social justice activism, I bring a wealth of grounded expertise in championing gender justice causes across diverse platforms—from grassroots movements to legislative corridors in the House of Parliament. Based in Trinidad and Tobago, I am the Founder of WOMANTRA, a pioneering queer and feminist organization that has led the charge in gender justice and intersectional politics across the Caribbean for more than a decade.Currently, as a Senior Officer at ILGA World, I spearhead a transformative multi-region decriminalisation project centered on SOGIESC issues. My role allows me to leverage my deep understanding of Caribbean contexts alongside my skills in campaign development and research, empowering local advocates and driving impactful change on a global scale.
