Overseeing the Bold Futures: Girls on the Rise program.Sponsored by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), the program is designed to develop long-lasting, trusting relationships through small group mentoring in order to help girls navigate challenges and opportunities. Groups consist of one mentor and three to four girls between the ages of 9-14, who do an assortment of organized and planned activities in the greater Portland area. The program runs from January - August 2018, totaling 48hrs spent mentoring altogether over those 8 months.

Mentor Support Specialist - Recruit and help recommend 'at-promise' students to become mentees in the program, assist with training new mentors, and then match mentees with a mentor. Once matched, check in on both mentees and mentors periodically, log information and track progress of relationship, and offer support in any way possible. All of this involves traveling to different schools within Klamath County, working with school administrators, counselors, teachers and community members. Plan and implement monthly match activities and quarterly mentor mingles/meetings. Represent the organization at numerous public events and meetings, as well as plan and organize fundraisers, and promote the organization via events, social media, and other marketing.Youth Attendance Team - Prevent truancy by making school contact with assigned students and/or parents regarding school attendance issues. Offer resources and educate students/parents regarding school attendance laws and consequences. Make home visits as necessary, encourage open communication with school, deliver last-chance letters, and at times, truancy citations.
