About Stephanie Mccready

I am the creator and manager of programs and events that educate and engage primary and secondary school students and communities nationwide. With a strong background in science research, I use my knowledge and passion to inspire young minds in science and STEM, and have been an integral member of the ANSTO Education Team since 2014.My education programs incorporate relevant curriculum-linked learnings and engage thousands of students each year. National programs include Think Science!, Elements in the 21st Century, ANSTO STEAM Club Online, and the Shorebirds Competition, and are supported by online incursions and resources for students and teachers. Programs delivered at ANSTO’s Lucas Heights Campus include STEAM Club for Girls and science holiday workshops on diverse topics. Outreach in the local community includes Primary School Incursions and various community events.I started my career as an ANSTO scientist and hold a PhD in environmental science and Honours degree in chemistry. I worked in research and consulting for over 15 years before returning to ANSTO as part of the Education Team. I am a skilled science communicator having delivered content to hundreds of diverse audiences.
