In 2018 I graduated from Newberry College with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I am certified to teach grades 2-6. I am also a Read to Succeed Literacy Teacher. In 2021 I began my masters at American College of Education in Educational Leadership. My expected graduation date is September 2022. Throughout my teaching career, I taught third grade for one year and have taught fifth grade for the past three years. During this time I have grown as an educator and have developed my teaching skills. In 2021 I was named the school Literacy Teacher of the Year. Later, I was named the Newberry County Elementary Literacy Teacher of the Year during the 2021-2022 school year. In addition to my teaching duties, I have been a member of our school leadership team for two of my four years teaching. During that time I collaborated with teachers and administrators to making improvements to our school. I am an active member of the Newberry County Reading Council. I have participated in several professional development opportunities, both district lead and self selected. Outside of work, I serve as an advisor to the local Kappa Delta chapter at Newberry College. I have served as an advisor for three years. Throughout this time, I've worked with collegians in a variety of capacities. I've served as both the Standards chapter advisory board member and most recently was named the Diversity and Inclusion chapter advisory board member. Both of these titles have allowed me to mentor chapter members to become productive members of the chapter, college, and workforce. My husband and I live in Newberry, South Carolina with our daughter, Eleni, and furbaby, Murray. These three bring immense joy and purpose to my life.
