Supported all departments within CANFAR by developing and implementing clear, timely, and strategic communications and marketing strategies that tie back to the mission and work to position CANFAR as a Canadian leader in HIV and AIDS research.Development and implementation included: integrated print and digital communications strategies that meet sponsorship obligations of corporate partnerships, print media design for transit and regional news papers, sponsorship proposals, social media kits for partners and committees, post-event communications evaluations, briefings and reports for CEO. Identified and fostered relationships with new CANFAR ambassadors, integrating their stories into the development, events, program and public affairs aspects of the Foundation. The result was a greater connection to the Foundation's mission translating into more funds raised through events, higher rates of return on media relations efforts, and a direct mail campaign that raised more than $120,000. Managed the content development and website maintenance of three websites including canfar.com, aidsbeat.com and bloorstreetentertains.com.Built CANFAR's human resource capacity for graphic design by hiring and managing graphic designers on behalf of the organization.

Planned and delivered all aspects of Society’s artificial tanning and healthy eating and living advocacy strategies. Responsible for developing internal and external communications and issues management materials including briefings, key message products, executive speeches/presentations and information packages. Developed policy and government submissions from initial scoping and writing to presentations. Key successes include: Leading the Canadian Cancer Society’s study on tanning industry practices from study design, implementation and results reporting to government and media.Organizing Celebration at Queen’s Park, an afternoon event that brought together over 150 volunteers and cancer survivors to meet with MPPs and government officials in order to celebrate cancer survivorship and encourage progressive movement in cancer prevention legislation.Acting as member of editorial and project management team for planning and development of Society’s Parents for Health website. Contributing to training and mentoring approximately 65 volunteers across Ontario on advocacy techniques and building personal connections with local elected officials. Developing and executing the Save Our Skin Campaign mobilizing Ontarians to take action on the need of artificial tanning legislation. Chairing and providing strategic government relations advice to the Ontario Collaborative Group on Healthy Eating and Physical Activity's advocacy sub-committee

Acted as primary contact for all teachers, guidance counselors and board staff in the city of Toronto's Catholic School Board delivering presentations on student success and finding individual pathways for individual students. Key successes include: Delivering approximately 175 presentations on future pathway options to a variety of audiences including teachers, guidance departments, students, and government. Organizing “women in the trades” networking dinner connecting high school aged females with successful females who are thriving in skilled trades careers. Organization included the development of all communications materials and evaluation forms. Building relationships with skilled traders professionals in order to move the mission of the organization forward. Representing Skills Canada at round-table discussions about student success in the classroom in the GTA.
