On top of teaching the 7th grade ELA standards I also: • Ran English department meetings as chair of the department.• Lead and facilitated all 7th grade ELA PLC’s.• Created pacing guides for 7th and 8th grade.• Created lesson plans and resources for the team to help master grade level content, enhance technology skills (iPad), and exposed students to complex texts.• Created test materials such as CFA’s and quarter benchmarks.• Analyzed data and determined what skills had been mastered and which needed to bereview.• Incorporated personalized learning through the use of choice in pathway or activities, and helped create learner profiles with learning styes quiz and goal setting documents.• Taught an additional 8th grade ELA class (due to there being no teacher).• Served as a Beginning Teacher Mentor (had 3 mentees). • Served as an i3 (Apple & Personalized Learning) member for our school and district. • Received my Apple certification. • Served as member of the Instructional Leadership Team where we focused on data and learning practices that would meet the needs of our students and staff. • Sat in multiple job interviews. • Ran the National Junior Honor Society organization in our school. • Founded the Random Acts of Kindness Club in our School.

During the 2017-2018 school year, I started as a 6th grade teacher, but was moved to the 7th grade to help a struggling group. I also took on an additional prep (social studies). • Assisted ELA and Social Studies PLC’s to help my colleagues develop lesson plans and analyze data.• Build a positive learning environment where students could not only learn, but have the ability to ask questions.• Encouraged collaboration in both content areas.

In this position I was responsible for teaching and meeting the NC ELA standards.
