Worked collaboratively under the mentorship of Dr. Diane Cook through the Center for Advanced Studies in Adaptive Systems (CASAS) Gerontechnology-Focused Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (GSUR) at Washington State University (WSU). Project involved the application of machine learning techniques to smartwatch sensor data and smart home video data for automatic activity learning, including activity recognition and step segmentation.

Duties included: migrating institutional reports to updated system and creating comprehensive documentation, working in conjunction with the SMCM Admissions Office to identify and resolve data integrity issues, performing SQL and Perl scripting in support of various campus operations, and using IBM Cognos Analytics to create queries and write complex reports for Institutional Research.

Spring 2018:I worked collaboratively to design and implement a study of user interfaces of selected SMCM Library, Archives, & Media Center online products. I served as principle investigator to conduct usability tests, analyze data, and develop and deliver a list of recommended improvements. Preliminary results presented at Indiana University Bloomington in October 2018.Fall 2018 - Spring 2019:I continued data analysis efforts on past user experience (UX) testing data. Findings were used to inform the development of a three-year strategic plan for user experience (UX) testing for the SMCM Library, Archives, & Media Center.

I conducted research on multi-document text summarization for my undergraduate senior thesis, culminating in the delivery of a St. Mary's Project (SMP).

I designed a research project to investigate the impact of legend placement on recognition and recall in healthcare visualizations. I utilized data analysis techniques and Tableau software to visualize a dataset of over 16,000 records, develop testing protocols, and conduct experimental testing and results analysis. Findings were publicly presented at the St. Mary's Undergraduate Research Symposium in July 2018.
