The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is responsible for advocating on behalf of the American Cancer Society. I lead the Florida Government Relations Team responsible for advocating the federal and state legislative priorities, volunteer recruitment and management, and fundraising. Track record of meeting and exceeding fundraising goals. This is my second fundraising cycle and the Florida team, led by me, exceeded goal by 23%. Implemented new strategies to recruit and retain volunteers and engage them in our state and federal campaigns.

Responsible for the administration, planning, and programming for the Office of Cabinet Affairs and 3 Project Management Teams. The teams manage complex projects that have often been around for over 10 years and could never find a resolution. It was our responsibility to work with the interested parties to resolve the issues.• Serve as the liaison between the Agency and the offices of the Governor and Cabinet members (the 4 highest elected officials in Florida) as it relates to their proprietary interests, board agenda items, and large scale complex projects. • Leadership role in formulating statewide policy both through the Cabinet and Legislative process. • Brief the Agency Head on the upcoming Board of Trustees’ agenda and prepare talking points.

Advisor to the agency head on critical policy issues. Negotiate with interested parties related to legislation and act as their liaison for the agency.Develop the agency's legislative agenda and legislative budget request by coordinating with the 13 divisions housed within the department, from real estate managment and development to insurance benefits for all state employees. Primary lobbyist for the agency. Secure bill sponsors for our initiatives, brief legislators and their staff/legislative aides on issues related to our agency.

Responsible for the administration of 41 Aquatic Preserves, 3 National Estuarine Research Reserves, the Coral Reef Conservation Program, and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.Effectively managed Coastal and Aquatic Managed Areas (CAMA) activities with other state, federal, and local governments to implement programs of scientific research, environmental education, and resource management.Develop CAMA's legislative agenda and track legislation.Supervise grant, budget and administrative staff. Oversight of the day to day operations of the central office in Tallahassee.
