Reporting to the ICTR’s Administrative Director, the Research Project Administrator for Education and Training will manage the Translation Endeavors (TE) Program within the ICTR. In addition, the Research Project Administrator will be accountable for creating, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and managing a comprehensive research education program for the Johns Hopkins Research Coordinator Community, supporting investigators and their study teams throughout the Institution.

The COVID Research Operations Administrator will play a key role in the ICTR’s COVID-19 Research Center. This position will centralize functions related to inpatient and ambulatory COVID research to ensure efficient operations. This manager will be responsible for supervising research coordinators who will provide support to the COVID research at multiple JH sites; including but not limited to JH Hospital, JH Green Spring, JH Bayview Medical Center, JH School of Nursing, JH School of Public Health and the Baltimore field hospital (for JH participants transferred to the field hospital). This position will help coordinate education, training, and communication efforts, as needed, to ensure that all aspects of research operations are conducted appropriately according to DHHS, FDA, ICH, IRB, and any other applicable regulatory authority.

The Research Coordinator Community Training Program Director will help provide vision and direction for the research coordinator community throughout the Johns Hopkins Institutes including advancing the research mission of the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research through work on a variety of topics. This position will work closely with other ICTR staff to promote a culture of collaboration, creative innovation, and teamwork.In this role, the Research Coordinator Community Training Program Director will work with a leadership team to continuously assess and improve the quality and satisfaction of Research Coordinators within the School of Medicine. This person will develop the approach to routine measurement of the work life for Research Coordinators and make recommendations for required and optional training, as well as ways to improve work life satisfaction and work life balance.This position will oversee the Study Coordinator Apprenticeship and Mentoring Program (SCAMP) and the Research Coordinator Support Service (RCSS) managing the continued growth and develop of both programs, as well as providing supervision to the Research Program Manager(s) and the Sr. Administrative Assistant. This will allow the Research Coordinator Community Training Program Director to focus on developing and implementing a strategy for further evaluation and publication on the impact of both the SCAMP and RCSS programs, continued growth of the programs, coaching and mentoring the program staff (Research Program Manager(s), Administrative Staff, Research Program Coordinators, and Research Coordinator Apprentices), and providing leadership for the Research Coordinator Community at Johns Hopkins.

This includes the development of a scope of practice for non-clinical research staff, making recommendations for Institution wide changes to non-clinical research staff career progression/development, and making recommendations for standard (required) training courses/programs for all JHM research staff•Provide expert knowledge and guidance to JHM leadership regarding implementation of new training methods in a variety of clinical research topics to improve organizational development and effectiveness; including workforce analysis and evaluation research to inform future training needs•Work on a variety of special projects as requested by other departments and outside consult organizations collaborating with academia and industry to enhance education and training standards through learning and development training courses and curriculum development workshops.
