Working with key stakeholders across the James Walker global business the purpose of my role was to assist the collation and generation of information which was used in the creation of marketing content and materials. To assist the team in writing and creation of content, specifically for the Gasket range.

Continuing with the same responsibilities as previous job role, production planner, but with the added responsibility of being a supervisor within the Supply Chain. Dealing with material and supplier issues; focusing more on SRM and supplier performance (KPI’s and OTIF) and making sure there is a continuous flow from order of material to goods manufactured. Experience of interviewing, supervising and appraisals.

This job role was to lead production planning for Bingley machine shop with tasks including: maintaining and updating production data within the business ERP System, managing data integrity within the shop floor, provide information and reports relating to material, production performance, available capacity and delivery lead times. Within the role it had a key focus on achieving high levels of OTIF with efficient use of assets through good use of all production planning tools, consideration of constraints and effective communication; I had to maintain key relationships with sales, purchasing, manufacturing, customer services and quality. In addition I worked closely with and covered for the production coordinator role with tasks including creation of routings, issue of works orders and booking of operations.

Responsibilities included purchasing Raw Materials and commodity sealing products specifically Stainless Steel Sheets and Winding, Spiral Wound Gaskets (SWG), Ring Type Joints (RTJ) and Kamm Profile Gaskets. Expediting orders to achieve delivery targets for the Plymouth Factory and challenging overdue purchase orders with suppliers. Processing orders from Min/Max reports, the plan and a requisition pool, and ensuring the Plymouth site is serviced effectively and efficiently for all purchasing functions.

One year university placement which encompassed a variety of departments which operated under the group ‘Operations Management’. Customer Service including the analysis of sales trends for key customers to aid in forecasting, completing MIS and OTIF reports on a regular basis.Operations including analysing production reports along with reporting the production figures to management. Completing traceability records from job packs and completing inter-company transactions for raw materials.Planning included working closely with the purchasing manager and warehouse manager to keep the JIT system for consumables constant so production could be adhered to.Commercial included alterations to quotes (inter-company) to ensure invoices are correct, reviewing and amending monthly stock figures, signing off inter-company invoices creating purchase orders and calculating regrind percentages from customers.
