I have spent 17 years working with music programs and 10 years working in education. Creativity, diversity, travel, hiking, and volunteering are all important to me. I have a dry and slightly sarcastic sense of humor that I use to try to make people laugh in unexpected ways. In my work, I’ve increased participation in fall events for national non-profit by creating a new classification system for competitions; streamlined contracting system to process over 1,000 contracts per year across five departments; and trained and piloted a change over from a paper to digital system of multiple record keeping systems to improve security of employee personal information. I am able to talk my colleagues through new process and procedures in a way that is clear and easy to follow. I love helping people get to the root of a problem and finding a solution. I’m told I am very logical and a big picture thinker, able to take in all of the angles and find the best options. I welcome everyone into the workplace in a warm way, making myself approachable and creating a safe environment for others when needed. I have worked with three different performing arts programs, giving me a comprehensive understanding of the needs of students and professionals in the field. I am a night owl and an early bird, and am able to stay upbeat and positive no matter the time or length of the day. I was jacketed as a union steward within my first year with union.
