Served as the Editor for a regional publication for residents in and around the Cypress area. Magazine grew during my editorship from 64 to 100 pages. Determined magazine content, created editorial calendars, scheduled writers and photographers to stories, edited and proof-read all stories, wrote freelance articles and other magazine content, facilitated cover shoots with staff photographers, wrote additional news, events and job postings for the magazine's website at www.cyfairmagazine.com.

Worked part-time as a freelance technical writer and editor, while staying home with my young children. Work tasks included software documentation; website design, production and maintenance; online help development; marketing white papers and product documentation; and marketing/PR work for both professional and non-profit organizations. My strong communication skills benefited clients on a wide array of consulting projects and a diverse field of customers.Additionally, Stephanie's work during this time also included writing and editing for magazine and print publications, managing a regional glossy magazine distributed to more than 30,000 homes and businesses in the Cypress area. She designed two different websites for non-profit organizations with which she was involved, and spear-headed several volunteer efforts at her children's schools and at her church.

Led online discussions, planned events and online meet-ups, and marketed MomsLikeMe.com to the Houston area. MomsLikeMe.com was a website dedicated to supporting area mothers through discussion boards, group meetups, and fun events and activities. Consulted on several projects for various clients with jobs consiting primarily of technical writing, technical editing, developing web content, and producing marketing documentation. Project scopes and sizes varied by the client, as did the deadlines. The UserAid team of technical communicators work with software development companies to deliver the information users need both when and where they need it. Most notably, I effectively managed my consulting work with UserAid while simultaneously holding down a very time-consuming role as Editor of Cy-Fair Magazine.

Created solely online help documentation using WinHelp. Attended client/sales and development meetings to gather information. Trained a small group of writers and managed the day-to-day schedules, assigments, and activities of the group. Attended conferences to increase knowledge base. Assisted various other departments, such as Information Technology and Testing, to improve company processes and documentation.
