Lead in-class and field trip experiences connecting elementary and middle school students with their local water resources and investigating how we impact our environments. Train and support seasonal educators working in these programs. Coordinate cleanup events for Solano County, including Coastal Cleanup Day, Earth Day, and World Environment Day. Supervise interns in a summer environmental outreach program educating folks about sustainable and green boating practices at Lake Berryessa and throughout Solano County. Created a new program in partnership with the Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District to educate middle school students about our water treatment systems, how our infrastructure can be climate resilient, and give them experience in native plant restoration work and community engagement over new projects at the District.

- Write and edit standards-based science instructional materials and assessments to be accessed online by elementary and middle school teachers and students through the STEMscopes program (a partnership of Accelerate Learning and Rice University).- Projects have included storyboarding and writing scripts for enrichment videos and editing the work of other writers as team lead for this assignment; designing interactive activities to be built by software engineers; creating assessments aligned to standards at multiple grade levels (K-8); and editing materials for style and content both on the website and in our printed student notebooks. - Coordinate and collaborate with ALI staff, other writing consultants, video production teams, translators, and graphic designers to produce high-quality education resources.

I worked with a great team to offer varied education programs through the museum for Pre-K through high school students. I supported and delivered programs including:- field trip presentations and museum tours for visiting school groups- the Eco-Ambassadors program in MPUSD schools with 5th grade classes- Watershed Explorers classroom visits and field trips at Garland Park along the Carmel River (hikes, freshwater macroinvertebrate studies, water quality testing)- LiMPETS Sandy Beach and Rocky Intertidal monitoring- other special community programs held at the museum like our Science Saturdays and evening science lecturesI did most of the planning and preparation for our themed summer camps for children ages 4-9 and served as the lead teacher for two months of camp. I also updated curriculum for our field trip presentations, preparing two full lessons with all manipulatives and resources on Sand Crab adaptations and Steelhead habitats, as well as part of the new Migration presentation.

TeamDSP does team and individual sports portraiture in school and youth recreation league settings throughout Dallas/Fort Worth.- Completed or oversaw order fulfillment and customer service for an average of 15,000 students photographed each year. - Connected with coaches and league representatives to schedule approximately 250 separate photo shoots each school year at over 50 locations. - Created training materials and directed training for photo assistants, data entry workers, order fulfillment staff, and customer service representatives. - Wrote and produced professional literature for the company including an HR handbook, step-by-step operations manual for all tasks done in the office, procedure guides for site workers, and extensive information booklets for customers wishing to create printed programs or needing special photos.- Revamped order forms, internal documents, e-mail systems, payment systems, hiring practices, and operational procedures to increase efficiency and profitability.

- Taught both math and science to varied groups of learners in a semi-departmentalized 5th grade program (one class of ELL students and one class of Gifted and Talented students, accounting for half of the school's 5th graders). - Helped to evaluate assessment data and coordinate targeted extra science instruction for 5th grade students in preparation for state testing, including Science Saturdays and after-school tutorials. - Results: 94% of our 5th grade students met standards on the state science test and 96% did so in math (compare to statewide averages of 83% and 84% respectively). - Ed White Elementary is a high-performing Title I school with 60% of students designated as English Language Learners and 86% designated as economically disadvantaged.

- Designed and taught themed hands-on and exploration based science workshops for Pre K to 8th grade students in a variety of formats. - Sessions included after-school programs in area elementary and middle schools, multi-day summer enrichment courses at the Lyceum's facility, and weekly lab workshops for the families of Monterey County Home Charter School at their campus.

- Taught hands-on, standards based science lab classes for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade (800+ students each year) to supplement science learning done with their main classroom teacher.- Collaborated with classroom teachers to support and improve science instruction school-wide by providing resources and targeting weak areas after diagnostic assessment. - Prepared and presented science resources and professional development for individual teachers, campus-wide trainings, and also at the state level. - Created and led Science Clubs for 4th and 5th graders. - Received the Wilhelmina C. Robertson Excellence in Science or Mathematics Teacher Award from the Houston Museum of Natural Science in 2006.- Through a huge cooperative effort during my time in the science lab, the percentage of 5th grade students passing the state-mandated science exam (TAKS) rose from 58% to 86%, putting our school well ahead of the state average (70%) and the average of a cohort of schools with similar demographics as determined by the state education agency (38%).
