As a technical writer at JR Automation, my job was to work with production teams to develop documentation packages for customized industrial machinery. During my time with JR, I familiarized myself with a variety of HMI programming software, including Siemens and Allen Bradley. I also worked with CAD files and electrical diagrams, interpreting and incorporating them into documentation packages. I created troubleshooting guides, maintenance schedules, detailed procedures, operating sequences, and any other information required by our customers. My success with JR stemmed from my ability to communicate effectively with all project team members, customers, and third party organizations such as translators, auditors, and various suppliers. My position required me to be self-motivated and plugged into the project at all levels, from the quoting phase to installation on a customer's floor. My time with JR Automation provided me with a variety of skills that I have been able to carry over into other parts of my professional life.

As a CSA at PNC Bank, I was responsible for developing strong professional relationships with my clients and becoming a trusted ally for them when it came to their financial needs (loans, accounts, investments, etc.). I took on the role as the University Banking Representative, which gave me the opportunity to represent PNC Bank at local colleges in Grand Rapids. I met with parents, prospective students, and current students to discuss their financial situation and prepare to manage their money on campus. I met and routinely exceeded sales goals, establishing myself as a sales leader in my branch. My time with PNC taught me to cultivate relationships and put my customer's needs first. This was evident in my consistently high-scores from customer satisfaction surveys (EIQ).

As the research intern, I spent my time at the museum researching the benefits that play has on child development. I based the majority of my research off of published studies, peer-reviewed articles, and observation. I then compiled my research into a 25 page document that has been used by several schools and early childhood programs working to keep recess and free play in their schools.
