Stephanie Mickens is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Georgia. Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Savannah State University and a Master of Accountancy degree from Georgia Southern University. In addition to her professional work experience, Stephanie has served in numerous leadership roles for the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA). Prior to taking a career sabbatical, she spent four-and-a-half years as an Inspections Specialist at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) where she is one of a team of approximately fifty Information Systems Auditors, nationally. Her team was responsible for supporting audits of public companies performed by the Big Four network firms globally. Prior to her role with the PCAOB, Stephanie worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) for eight years as a Manager in the Risk Assurance practice, where she provided services related to the performance of assessments of internal control over financial reporting as part of Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements for public companies. In August 2019, Stephanie took a career sabbatical to focus on my health and wellness. What was intended to be a three- to-six month break from Corporate America has turned into over three years. During this time, she launched Miss.Fit Fitness, which is the health & wellness brand that I created out of my personal wellness journey. The mission of Miss.Fit Fitness is to take busy professionals from sedentary (or somewhere in between) to crushing it in the gym. Ultimately, it is her goal to show her clients how to obtain their health & wellness goals through changes to their daily habits. While she enjoyed building this brand, she realized it was time to re- enter the workforce and continue to build her story and be an example of work/life balance. Recently, Stephanie was the IT Financial Controls Risk Lead at a national financial services company, where she led the execution of the IT ICFR program, including the company’s IT SOX scoping and risk assessment.
