Our program works to help get kids from underserved communities outdoors! We do this by partnering with schools and community members, making expensive gear easily available, and sharing our outdoor knowledge to make new activities less intimidating.

Amidst the challenges of Covid-19, I've been working with my mom's business, NewCreations Art Classes, to produce video art lessons and launch her curriculum in an online learning format. I've worn a lot of hats here, including video producer, director, and editor, web designer, and online course creator.

Glacier National Park To The Pacific Ocean

Solo-hiked almost a thousand miles of the beautiful Pacific Northwest Trail, from Glacier National Park to the Olympic Coast. Raised money for the Mooky Project, a charity that provides sock monkey treatment buddies to kids facing long-term health battles at Riley Children's Hospital.

In this role, I mentored and taught backcountry skills to teens that were struggling with their mental health while living with them in the wilderness of Colorado for eight days at a time. I led therapeutic groups, planned outdoor activities, and taught healthy coping skills, all while managing risks and ensuring students' physical and emotional safety. I brainstormed with leadership around policies and procedures, mentored newer staff, and supported parents of our students.I also created marketing materials for Seeds, including brochures, flyers, letterheads, web pages, videos, short-form video ads, and downloadable resource PDFs.

Since I returned from the Pacific Crest Trail, I've been continuing my role as a designer at JH on a contract basis while I consider future opportunities in the outdoor industry. Part of this contract included supporting the User Experience Team at Vera Bradley for 9 weeks while a Senior UX Designer was on maternity leave.

Achieved my dream of hiking from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail. I covered 2,336 miles on foot, carrying everything I needed to live on my back. I also used this opportunity to raise $5,900 for Compassion International's work to release children from poverty.

I designed beautiful and easy-to-use responsive websites, web applications, and graphics for digital use. Beyond just choosing great fonts and color schemes, my responsibility was to make the user experience as frictionless and enjoyable as possible, which in turn boosted our clients' success.While at JH, I created a fully responsive Design Library/Modular Template to integrate with our custom CMS platform, making a significant impact on design & dev efficiency for new websites. I was also responsible for mapping out user journey on our oDash product, wireframing each screen for desktop and mobile, and creating the finalized visual design.

While pursuing my bachelor's degree, I took on on a wide variety of graphic design, web design and photography projects to gain further experience. From initial sketches to final execution, I was responsible for every aspect of the design process on both print and web projects, ensuring the satisfaction of my clients.

Built relationships with 23 residents living in an apartment-style dorm. Enforced community living standards, led hall meetings, and checked residents in and out over breaks. Planned and carried out multiple successful events with a team of ten people.

I worked for a summer helping run high adventure activities (zip lines, rock walls, etc.) and team building exercises; after each activity, I led discussions to help the kids integrate their faith into each activity. I also stayed with 4th-6th grade cabin groups during the evening, helping the other counselors lead activities and campfire time.
