I manage the graduate and undergraduate programs in the department. I hire, supervise, train, assign work and evaluate 6 staff members and one student worker. I administer the teaching assignments and grader assignments for the courses. I oversee the scholarship process and represent the department on various campus wide committees. I work with faculty on curriculum issues and admission processes.

I supervise, train, assign work and evaluate two staff members and one student worker. I manage and administer departmental scholarships and manage departmental admissions in collaboration with faculty for undergraduate students. I oversee onboarding and orientation events for newly admitted students and collaborate with First Year Programs on some of these events. I review academic progress and counsel 560+ undergraduates on polices, probation, misconduct and resources. I represent my department at College and University level committees including the Direct to College initiative.

Counsel approximately 500 students though the curriculum, connecting them to research opportunities and resources and guide them on career and graduate school planning. I monitor satisfactory progress, waitlists and petitions. I lead prospective information sessions, orientations and group advising sessions. I facilitate departmental undergraduate admissions including systems, tracking, training committee members and contribute to admission decisions. I manage events including our Open House, freshman socials, Husky Adventure tours and EE Graduation Ceremony. I assist our IEEE/HKN student chapter on their events, as well. I administer undergraduate scholarships and represent EE at recruitment events.

I counseled students denied admissions to universities and programs on alternative paths to their goal. I developed and revised publications and coordinated information with appropriate statt on campus, e.g. Admissions and Registration, Credentials, Testing, Financial Aid. I organized and partcipated in new student orientations and was an affinity group leader where students and staff would meet in a safe space to chat about their like authentic experiences. I administed the satisfactory progress policy, tracked, reported and followed up with students on warning, probation and suspension and led the appeals process. I advsied all new, prospective and current students on admission requirements, transfer and professional/techincal degree requirements and major pre-requisites and admission requirements.

Coordinated the ESL, ABE/GED and High School Completion programs which included creating and maintaining student reports, orientation preparation and class presentations. Assisted a diverse student body including transfer, international, worksource, veterans and probationary students with eduacation plans, NSCC policies and procedures and university admission requirements. Referred students as necessary to appropriate campus or community resources.

Created and published departmental brochures and resource information and audited budget and annual reports monthly. Responded to telephone and walk-in inquiries on all departmental programs.

Developed exploratory opportunities for underrepresented minority students intersted in law including visits to law school programs, matching students to mentors who were lawyers, tips on interviewing and resume feedback. Coordinated team building exercises and assisted students on educational options and career opportunities.

Assisted students with educational planning in relation to transfer degrees. Advised enrolled and prospective students on university admissions policies and Seattle Central Community College policies and procedures for students and staff. Participated in new student orientations.

Organized and participated in new student orientations for approximately 7,500 entering undergraduate students. Advised new, current and transfer students on educational options, programs and graduation requirements. Committee member for the annual University of Washington/Community College Conference.

Reviewed Freshman applications for admissions.

Created and conducted study skills and stress management workshops. Developed and assessment addressing retention and probationary student concerns using research from similar programs fron other institutions.
