I have been an auditor for Customs and Border Protection 14 years.As an auditor, I collect and analyze data to detect deficient internal controls, fraud, non-compliance with laws and regulations, and determine potential risks. This information is used to determine the scope of the audit. I evaluate internal controls and operations of importers, examine records, and interview company officials to ensure proper recording and compliance with laws and regulations. I prepare a written audit report detailing the findings and recommendations, while following Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards. I then report the results to management. I have led and supervised a team of employees, assigned appropriate tasks to individuals, motivated employees to work as a team, trained new employees, and handled customer concerns or complaints in a professional manner. I have maintained complete confidentiality of information provided by companies. I stayed abreast of necessary training, policy updates, and laws/regulations regarding the importation of company merchandise.I use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. I review this information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions, including evaluating the the cost-benefit of pertinent assignments.I have also prepared individual tax returns for 5 years. I have prepared simple to complex tax returns, including S Corp, LLC, Partnership, and Trust returns. I have also managed other tax preparers as well.
