A brief introduction to me, I have worked in quite a few industries (this is the focus of many of the initial questions when I met somebody new) from engineering to project management, event management and sponsorships. Often, I've been engaged in the field/outdoors and have gained many skills, required qualifications and on-the-job experience. Examples include: swinging off a chainsaw in the tropical heat; first aid certificates; as well as development and marketing of the very successful sponsorship prospectus for the launch of the national Australian Bass Tournaments competition fishing circuit. Safety, as well as my love of the natural environment have been constant passions in my 40 years of employment. I see my inquisitive caring hard-working team-work orientated self as a: researcher / researcher & developer / designer; workplace leader/mentor; charity volunteer; steward of nature; entrepreneur, sponsorship and funding agent, and project/event manager. A side passion has been my special interest knowledge sharing via print media, with many thousand's of published articles submitted by my company. My forte' is the ability to combine this broad range of experience, responsibilities and qualifications (from Cert I to post-graduate) to foresee issues, solve problems, manages teams, and achieve on budget on time.I aspire to apply the abovementioned skills, experience and education to work in support of natural environment conservation and research projects/programs, including management of species introduced into Australia. I am currently on a scholarship studying marketing and web media at Curtin University, with a forecast mid-year 2025 completion. Post-graduation I have been offered a Honours year at Curtin University - to study marketing of environmental concepts; as well as a Master of Environmental Science at a University in Queensland (close to my rural home). In a Master I'd like to further my research into trapping techniques including remote camera trapping in support of monitoring for conservation. Undecided yet, as to my choice for next year, I would love to concurrently incorporate these studies into real world programs. My dream role would combine my quest for environmental conservation research, involve employment of technology, and use my strengths in project management, marketing/knowledge sharing and sponsorship/funding coordination experience.
