This involved the co-ordination of the EDF Framework companies and EDF Program Management to produce detailed estimates for the preparation of Defuelling and Decommissioning at the EDF nuclear reactors around the UK.

Returned to the UK to participate in the successful bidding process for the DRIGG LLWR nuclear Repository in Cumbria. During this process I was responsible for all of the estimating and budget activities. After the contract award I was part of the Transition Management Team based in Cumbria. I was then part of the Washington/AMEC/AREVA team on the successful bid for the Sellafield nuclear Management contract responsible for the estimating and budget activities.

This has involved postings to the London office for estimates/bids for Pharmacia (pharmaceutical plants) in Cork Ireland, Posting to Sellafield for estimates on the BNFL DRIGG project and a 3 month posting to Simon Carves Manchester to put a joint bid for Ineos Chlor.(chlorine plant at Runcorn Cheshire.)

Duties included fitting of shot blast machinery, and then commissioning the machinery at various sites within the UK, e.g. Vickers shipyard at Barrow in Furnace.

Four year EITB apprenticeship working in the fitting shop, machine shop, inspection dept, tool making shop and fabrication shop. The objective was to train as a craftsman in accordance with the training standards of the board of modules.
