East Region Safety Director
CurrentI manage the safety team servicing the East Region and its approximately 1500 employees. The team works as safety resource for East Region managers and field employees. I'm responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities of crews and ensuring all work is performed safely and proficiently. I supervise three safety supervisors that includes twenty safety specialists. I developed an employee’s recognition program, reviewing the crew’s safety statistics, which measured their safety performance, OSHA recordable, and training. I have created a plan and organized an effective education program to improve employee awareness of safety responsibilities. I wrote and developed, implemented and instructed a New Employee Orientation Program, Permit Confined Space and Competent Person for Trenching and Excavation. Modified training and instruction materials in the OSHA 10- and 30-hour training courses. This also includes the new OSHA approved 10-hour Electrical Distribution and Transmission Course, which was developed by the OSHA partnership. . In 2021 I took over safety operations of H&M Central Region, and 600 additional employees thirteen safety professionals. Their territory is from the Great Lakes to Louisiana, and far west to Colorado. The Line of Businesses include Power Transmission & Distribution, Gas Distribution, Telecom and Renewable Energy. My Safety Team that I manage is six Managers and twenty-four safety specialists. We recently we created a Human Performance training course and have begun training in the field. I’m creating updating a a near miss program and new safety recognition program.
