Stephen J. Bordes is a PGY-4 surgery resident at LSU Health New Orleans pursuing a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery. He graduated with a B.A. in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley (2015) and M.D. with summa cum laude honors and research distinction from St. George's University (2020). Bordes completed translational anatomy research fellowships at Seattle Science Foundation, Swedish Hospital (2019) and Tulane University School of Medicine (2021). Medical clerkships and sub-internships were completed at Cleveland Clinic Florida (MS4) and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, California (MS3).Bordes has an extensive research background with over 100 publications and experience coordinating patient cohort studies. He is an editor and author of a multidisciplinary vascular textbook, The Clinical Anatomy of the Vascular System (Springer, 2024). Bordes is the 2024 grant recipient of the $25,000 CWIS-KLS Martin Resident Fellowship in Chest Wall Injury Outcomes Research for chest wall instability research. He holds a California real estate license with Cayenne Realty and works part-time in the wine and viticulture industry for Bordes Wines, Sonoma Coast.
