In January 2024 I joined Quantuma International to manage their Cayman and BVI offices. I'm based in Cayman but will be a regular visitor to BVI where I worked between 2017 and 2020. Very much looking forward to catching up with existing friends and making some new ones in both jurisdictions.

My friend and long time colleague Wong Teck Meng and myself set up B&W in early 2008. In February 2011 we joined with BRI Ferrier of Australia to form Briscoe Wong Ferrier. We focus on helping companies (and sometimes individuals) who are in financial difficulties. We are very experienced in dealing with the restructuring and rescue of companies and, if necessary their liquidation. We also provide litigation support and forensic accounting services through our collaboration with BRI.

After almost 20 years in Hong Kong I have decided to move on and have recently joined FFP in Cayman with a view to managing the BVI office once it has been set up.I'll be working in Cayman until we have got the BVI regulatory approvals, which at the moment we expect to be in Q1 of 2017. There is a global recognition that existing management and director led wind downs and restructuring are often preferred by investors as an alternative to Court led processes. Our role often involves taking control and restructuring finances and operations, transitioning management and overseeing litigation. Sometimes we are brought in by stakeholders to replace existing board directors and general partners in crisis situations and we are involved in a number of multi-jurisdictional contentious restructuring and wind down engagements.We also involved acting as liquidators of many companies either on a voluntary basis or where appointed by the Court in Cayman.I hope that some of us will get the opportunity to work together either here in Cayman or in the BVI.Stephen Show less
