In this position I am employed as a Telescopic forklift operator on the Aberdeen to Inverness rail upgrade. I gained my personal track safety certificate (PTS) and gained valuable experience working on the line in this position doing all manner of civils maintenance. I also performed Dumper and Roller duties when required.

During this period I had two contracts with RJ McCloud. The first being a cycle path from Inverness to Scaniport. On this job I was responsible for all Telehandler duties, Dumper and Roller operations, detection and excavation of live services, insertion of street lighting, Kerbing and a variety of other Groundworks. The second contract was a Hydro dam just outside of Ullapool, where I was doing all manner of Telehandler operations, loading and unloading materials etc, Dumper and Roller operations, concrete operative and other duties as need be.

Working on the M74 and M8 Upgrade doing all manner of Groundworks and some Telehandler duties as required.

In this role I am responsible for FT Dumper (10 ton) and Roller (3 ton -26 ton) duties.I am also responsible for all other groundwork duties including drainage and concreting.

In this position I am employed as a Yards man/ Store person with Alder Timber in the construction of Log cabins at a site in Struy, Cannich. In this job I am required to provide all trades men with their materials using 12 meter JCB Telescopic forklift. I must also keep the site in a clean and safe working condition emptying mini skips into larger designated skips for metal, wood and general waste, whilst maintaining yard and lay down areas. I must also maintain the log cabins, sweeping out and making sure there safe to work in. All stock must be accounted for with regular stock checks and put away safely and neatly. All Alder Timber Tools must be booked out at the start of the shift, and booked back in and checked they are in working order at the end of the shift. I am also responsible for ordering in materials for tradesmen and organising for main skips to be replaced when need be. I must also erect and disassemble tower scaffolding for tradesmen. I must also make sure the diesel container doesn’t run out by checking the level gauge an ordering more in. I must go around the site at the end of the shift and lock all doors and windows, locking up all containers and padlocking the main entrance gates.

Working as a self employed Telehandler/ Store person for Stewart Milne Construction on a new build housing site in Inverness. On this job I am responsible for loading and unloading materials and maintaining them. I am responsible for providing all trades men with their materials to a high level of safety, and maintaining a high level of site cleanliness. Daily checks of the Telescopic forklift must be undertaken as well as one weekly check and checklist submitted to management. The machine must also be maintained to within health and safety regulations, with regular greasing up of the intended parts.

During this period I was working as a self employed subcontractor doing ground work and plant operations at Knocknagale substation in Inverness for Morrison construction. In this job I was responsible for the overseeing of the 3 kilometre track dig, insertion of the shoring, laying and spreading of concrete based sand, overseeing drum operations when 275v cable is being pulled, removal of shoring and backfill, forward tipping dumper and ride on roller operations.

Employed through various agencies on different short term contracts, doing Telescopic handler work and all manner of Ground works including F T Dumper and Ride on Roller.

During this period I have been a self employed ground worker, working on the Airdrie to Bathgate rail link. In this job I performed lots of different duties including plant operations (dumper, roller) to all types of general ground work.

From this period I was self employed as a Telescopic handler performing all aspects of the job from large housing projects to colleges and schools. For the last year of this period I worked at the large Bowmer Kirkland site at the Eurocentral in Lanarkshire working for Avon hill joiners using 17 metre boom JCB and Manatou.

Employed through various agencies as a labourer with several construction and building companies. The jobs involved (ground work), laying slabs, kerbing, drainage, shoring culverts, building retaining walls, concrete pours (vibrating poker) foundations, mono-blocking, deep drainage excavations etc. I also done some labouring for joiners during this period.
