Currently developing third level courses with a view to increasing education cohesion in the areas of electoral systems, peace-building and conflict resolution, and conflict prevention using multi-disciplinary approaches. These courses are involving third level institutions in the US and Ireland with scope to involve more institutions further afield. I have professional experience as a leader in third level course development in international relations as well as first-hand experience as a former Desk Officer in the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade.Additionally working with unions in the hospitality and general labour sectors to develop a networking and information platform for workers and management in the hospitality industry with focus on career progression, mental health and addiction therapies and rehabilitation, employee/employers' rights and education. Immediately prior to beginning in DFAT, I worked for a number of years in the non-governmental sector, specialising in challenging behaviour and special needs for adults with intellectual disabilities. Previous employments include module leadership and lecturing posts in the University of Limerick, Ireland, in the areas of International Organisations and Global Governance; and Public Administration in Democratic States. In addition to these, I also lectured in the areas of Government and Politics in Ireland; Introduction to International Relations; Public Policy Process; and Research Methods in Politics.
