ResponsibilitiesIn addition to continuing the responsibilities as for Senior Support Modeller (below):• Successfully managing a small team in order to define and allocate work, ensuring efficient and effective delivery. Developing the team through regular one-to-ones, ensuring well-defined objectives and the progression of individuals in a timely fashion in order to deliver optimum quality.• Capturing and analysing requirements for modelling activities to ensure subsequent outputs are in line with wider business requirements.• Liaising with the customer both on an ad hoc and a structured basis to discuss modelling, ensuring outputs are customer-focussed and within agree timescales.• Organising and leading regular Modelling Working Groups with external customers, discussing successes and resolving potential concerns and issues.• Reviewing incoming and outgoing documents, including Supplier / Sub-Contractor Responses to contract deliverables.• Presenting work to customers, both internally and externally at all levels of seniority up to and including VP / Head of IPT. I have also presented at the UKCeB Supply Chain Management Working Group as an industry SME on Whole Life Cost.• Validation and Verification of models, ensuring accuracy, consistency and applicability.• Designing spreadsheets, including VBA macros, for other departments. Whilst this is outside the official remit of the team, I have been recognised as the SME within the business for spreadsheet related issues.• Producing bid documentation and programme plans for both UK MoD and International bids / programmes ensuring, where relevant, compliance with DefStan 0060 or DefStan 00600.

Responsible for:• Producing Whole Life Cost ModelsModels created through the CADMID Life Cycle, for defence projects ranging from £25 Million to £20 Billion, including UK MoD programmes such as Bowman and Scout SV.• Economic Level of Repair AnalysisUsing EDCAS to calculate most cost effective locations for repairs of equipment to be carried out, including sensitivity analyses.• Cost Benefit AnalysisVarious Cost Benefit Analyses, considering obsolescence mitigation strategies, mid-life upgrades, etc. Work has included the design of an unique equipment-based adaptive WLC model for Bowman that allows the estimation of the Through Life Cost impact of new equipment or modification to old equipment with minimum effort. This approach has allowed a consistent baseline to be used for WLC Benefit Analysis for the Bowman programme, increasing accuracy and customer confidence in the results presented.• Ranging and Scaling of SparesUse of both VMetric and an in-house developed Poisson Process Macro to define the range and scale of the required spares to provide the best Operational Availability for the lowest cost.• Simulation ModellingVarious Simulation Modelling activities, including:1. Supply Chain AnalysisModelling the End-to-End Military Supply Chain to consider the impact of various parameters such as utilisation and pipeline times.2. Equipment FieldingModelling a retrofit scenario for a fleet of land vehicles to estimate timescales dependent on availability of new equipment and fleet timings.3. Training Classroom ThroughputOptimising the passthrough of students in a training environment to minimise the time taken to train both individual Brigades and the entire population, whilst using the minimum number of seats of software licenses.• Production of Parametric Cost EstimatesUse of PRICE TruePlanning to produce cost estimates, ranging in size from equipment upgrades costing £10k to an AV procurement programme costing £20billion through life.
