Faulting and Maintenance on Glasgow Subway Signalling, Traction and Electrical Systems.

My role as Signalling Installation Team Leader involves leading the installation team andcontractors working on existing signalling systems and equipment. Upgrade and renewal ofsignalling equipment. Organise and plan work so as to maximise use of resources.Take lead, brief,organise and control work activities undertaken by installation team and contractors.

Signalling Installation Team leader (A) which I covered for 12 months.I was responsible for organising and controlling the work activities of the team, ensuring sufficientresources are available and contributing to technical leadership on engineering activities. Myteam and I were assigned to Install/Renew mechanical, electrical and hydraulic safety.

My role with network rail started initially as a Signalling Technician then progressed to Seniorsignalling Technician working under the instruction of Team leader installing infrastructure signalling equipment on Scotland's Rail Network.

My role as assistant project supervisor was in the cabling and civil engineering section on theFixed Telecoms Network (FTN) and Global Systems for Mobile Railways (GSMR) project in Scotlandwhich involved installing Copper and fibre optic Cabling. Base station equipment buildings andGSM masts across Scotlands rail network. Ensuring physical implementation.

My role as an engineering technician involved working in the manufacturing facility undertakingfull system assembly and test. Incoming and final inspection of assembly's, product's andcomponents. Writing Reject reports, updating quality records. Writing and issuing workinstructions for contract manufacturers. Upgrades and customer returns. Assembly.

My role as an electronic repair technician involved all aspects of printed circuit board assembly,modification, test and fault analysis and the repair for various company's such as ReworkSolutions Ltd, Elcomatic ltd, People For Work Ltd and Retronix Ltd on temporary contracts. I wasthen assigned sub contract positions to large blue chip companys in the.

My role with Sonnel International Ltd was as a Trainee Printed Circuit Board Repairer whichinvolved initial training in component identification, Component polarities, Electrostatic discharge(ESD), PCB handling, Health and safety in the workplace and monitoring and maintaining quality inthe workplace. After which i was awarded with SVQ level 2 in printed.
