This resulted in single tender actions & a move from a market position of 8th to 2nd • I was selected as one of 12 members from the company to join the World Class Work Winning Excellence team with the aim of development for top tier management progression. Through contact with world class companies outside of the rail industry e.g. Accenture, IBM and Lotus, this bore success in its first outing by securing a £220m alliance contract • Reporting quarterly to the global MD, I undertook a comprehensive review of relevant business sectors across the group developing new unique selling points. In doing this I formed a work winning team from Italy, Germany Sweden and the UK that reduced the cost base by a double figure percentage and increased the profit take into double figures. A key success was the approval of a ridged conductor beam and Air Insulated Switch system • I worked alongside clients to develop multi discipline turn key projects business cases. I provided Early Contractor Involvement representation into their bids to Department For Transport and Transport Scotland. This deliver value and success in announcements made by the Government Spending review supporting and funding the projects £800m and the concept development freight project £340m • I assisted with the successful introduction and development of four products that add significant value to the client by reducing the project cost, (reducing client 40% on costs). They also increase the Return Of Investment for the specific assets to which they apply, from design concept through delivery and into maintenance giving the company a key significant buying point from a client perspective -

Highlights of my role consist of: • Acting as the UK representative for USIL to develop markets for the reverse osmosis technology bringing awareness to and interest from major asset managers such as Network Rail, British Nuclear Group, BAA and the HA. • The relationship development, negotiation and licensee contract awards to four industry leaders: BALVAC, Concrete Repairs Ltd, Laser (Volker Group) and Margal being integrated with their marketing activities. • Acquiring the DTI, CE, European legislative and Metronet / LUL acceptance and approval for the use of the MPS system into the UK in a rarely achieved 18 months enabling marketing material production with agencies. • I setup and staffed the UK office with all the attendant facilities as well as providing business support for listing and floatation of the parent company on the Australian Stock Exchange. Through my creation of stakeholder presentations and management I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge into the commercial and investment world. We achieved success on the listing with an over subscription of 33% • I also set up our design service and management processes using these to improve the delivery of projects

As a member of the Special Projects Delivery Directorate I reported directly to the professional head. Highlights of my role were: • Selling the system to senior engineers, challenging the perceptions of design. Also delivering a high speed 21st Century solution to railway design and management, maximising the use of materials and labour • Developing a team of 16 operators with Carillion, DGT a DB contractor and Plasser and Theurer (manufacturers) • Organised training in the UK, Germany and Austria representing Network Rail • Adapting German and Austrian standard for the UK network, writing and producing the procedure for acceptance testing, inspection, operation and maintenance of the EMSAT • Managed and project engineered the innovative Balfour Beatty Slab Track (BBEST) project to network acceptance and into installation during West Coast Blockade working with Mott McDonald and ARUPTrack Renewals Site Engineer (West Midlands and Chilterns) • I was part of the track team for the Midland region within Network Rail based in Birmingham. I took on the role and developed my engineering and management skills. • Assisting with contract management, devising the strategy and work bank with AMEY, Carillion and Jarvis • Delivering three renewals sites a week planning, site and assurance. Total contract value £75m per yearCivil Engineering Graduate Trainee (Various Locations) • I was selected as one of five graduates to join the scheme. I was based in the Head office working with the Professional Heads of track, Civil's and OLE. • I had many roles throughout the business in almost every region and facet • Was a member of the HQ crisis management team following the Hatfield incident (failure mechanism rail)
