Core objective is to manage a series of utilities protection works, utility connections and permanent utilities diversions to ensure individual projects can be delivered in line with prevailing time and cost constraints for all interventions on the TRU West Alliance. First point of contact for all utility works across the programme and to develop a strong relationship with the utilities companies. Provide leadership and support on a series of utilities supply, diversion, protection & connection works. Lead the development of a detailed schedule for the utilities workstream, which includes facilitating the identification of key milestones and activities.

Part of the Design Joint Venture team on HS2 Phase 1 Enabling Works Contract North as lead for the utilities discipline, ensuring provision of technical resources to support all work packages across the contract. Key role to manage the production of utility design deliverables and interfaces with multi-disciplinary design team from inception through to detailed design. Identify engineering survey requirements, consents and licensing, design and approvals of all contestable utilities for associated enabling works packages. Support the client Utilities Team in liaison and co-ordination with HS2 Ltd and all affected utility companies.

Employed on the Growth Deal Programme for Transport for Greater Manchester to develop working relationships with the Utility Companies to ensure successful delivery of the twelve schemes, worth circa £350m. Provide leadership and support for all Utility related activities across the Growth Deal Programme including diversions, protection and connection works to ensure individual projects are delivered within time and budget constraints. Support projects in terms of design, planning and costing through to delivery on a variety of transportations projects including highway improvement works, interchanges and new link roads. Manage the New Roads and Street Works Act for Diversionary Works process from C2 to C9, providing guidance to Project Teams and Delivery Partners to ensure key milestone dates are achieved. Act as the key point of contact/liaison between Project Manager and the project team and the Utility Providers.

Oversee the successful delivery of multidisciplinary projects to scope, cost, quality, programme and completion for design and engineering activities. Projects include damage assessments on National Grid assets for Thames Tideway; detailed design for fuel gas pipeline for Palm Paper and due diligence on Peel Utilities. Framework Manager on National Grid Gas Technical Services Contract. Particular involvement with NG / Cadent Pipeline and AGI Integrity Teams on assignments associated with protection of NG buried assets. Service lead for Utility Management discipline within Energy Sector including development of business opportunities both internal and external and provide tendering services across sectors within WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff.Line management responsibility for employees within Utility Management discipline. Projects include Manchester Metrolink and Growth Deal Programme for Transport for Greater Manchester; Northern Hub Programme and Great Western Electrification Project for Network Rail; HS2 Phase 1 Enabling Works Contract North and HS2 Phase 2b.

Ring 3 is a proposed 27km long light rail project in the Greater Copenhagen area, Denmark. It is the biggest light rail project in Denmark, as well as in all the five Nordic countries, total investment expected to be circa £440m. Main function of the role was to develop time schedule for utility diversions programme for 18 protocols along entire route of the scheme with Utilities team. Co-ordinate time schedule with other project disciplines such as traffic, structures, land acquisitions and transportation systems. Advise team on utility issues relating to delivery of time schedule and on solutions that will benefit utility diversions programme.

Employed on the Northern Hub Programme for Network Rail to manage the relationship with the utility companies who are affected by the project. Acts as a link between project design teams and utility companies to identify integrated solutions to benefit cost and schedules.Co-ordination and management of major utility infrastructure affected including primary electricity substation; EHV electricity cables; trunk water mains; medium and intermediate pressure gas mains and fibre optic telecoms.

Employed on the North West Gas Alliance contract which purpose is to deliver the gas mains replacement programme for National Grid. Responsible for the development of the programme of works in accordance with operational capability with overall management responsibility of the Planning team to ensure delivery of quality designs and construction documentation.

Working on the Merseytram project as part of a team whose function was to manage and co-ordinate all utility diversions prior to main construction of the tramway. Responsible for managing the utility programme of works from design to construction with the use of value engineering to challenge diversions and reduce cost for client.

Working as part of the Bradford Intermediate Ring Main team for Yorkshire Water and responsible for the design, planning and estimating of large diameter water mains and mains cleaning projects.

Working on contracts for the rehabilitation of water mains for United Utilities throughout the Northwest. Supervised and co-ordinated a design team who were responsible for the design, planning and estimating of projects from Optioneering through to Bid Document Submission including management of site investigation and survey operations.

Industry experience gained through university degree qualification. Assisting the Estimating and Quantity Surveying department working on turnkey projects in the following African countries: Ghana, Tanzania and Uganda.

Employed on contracts for United Utilities for the purpose of updating existing mapping system. Appointed as agent for the remaining two years of my contract, which involved supervision and monitoring four survey teams.
