Electrical And Instrumentation Engineer
Completed I.O.S.HManaging contractors and suppliers
Production Engineer
Facilities Supervisor
When I joined Taylors, the company had no maintenance department and relied wholly on outside contractors. I was bought in to evaluate this and cover machinery repairs and TPM's when possible.I also implemented a preventative maintenance schedule and have cut contractor usage considerably most contractors are now only used to carry out compulsory inspections.I have also learned some important building skills as we operate on an Ex MOD 25acre site. My role is to make sure plant and equipment is running smoothly responding to machine breakdowns quickly.I react to Electrical breakdowns along with mechanical, pnuematic and Hydraulic fault finding.PlC programming is also part of my position.I supervise a team of 2 people along with 1 trainee to cover our whole site including gardening and facilities, buildings etc.During my supervisory position I have qualified in ILM level 3 management.
Maintenanace Supervisor
I joined HFTEC in Aug 2004 as a new UK venture by Hitachi metals. My role was to initially re-commission all onsite machinery for production start up in November 2004. My role also incorporated creating a maintenance department which would later grow to 4 multi-skilled engineers and 6 contractors, as well as creating a stores department. My role also incorporated heavy machinery controlled by Allen Bradley, Siemans S4 and Toshiba PLC's as well as hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.Sadly the company announced its closure in Sept 2008.
Maintenance Engineer
My role was to look after various Foundry plant at Aga's Coalbrookdale site. I was given my own section of plant to manage myself, and through effective Preventative maintenance and experience picked up through 6 sigma and Kaizan training learned from a previous company continually improved the production line increasing its uptime to 98%. I left this position due to the exciting prospect offerd to me at HFtec.
Maintenance Team Leader
I was promoted to Maintenance team leader shortly after joining Lear, running a shift of 3 engineers. My role was to fault find on Water jet cutting robots, (ABB and Motorman), ABB gluing robots, Nordson Gluing units, Injection moulding machines and various Hydraulic presses at 1000-1200 tons.I specialised in Water jet cutting machines at 50000 PSI and attended a training course in Germany at Flow cutting equipment.I stood down as Team leader as the role was becoming more office based and preferred a hands on role 6 months after taking the team leader position, I continued a further 18months as Maintenance Technician before leaving due to Lear closing the site.During my time at Lear I qualified in 6 sigma and completed various Kaizan improvement projects.
Maintenance Engineer (Chargehand)
I completed a 4 year apprenticeship attending Sandwell college where I gained Electrical and Mechanical qualifications.I was fortunate to work with a team of engineers whose attitude to work was excellent. They taught me the thinking process, (why did it breakdown and what can we do to stop it happening again?) to excel in the role and to keep machinery running.I was made chargehand shortly before I left and only left to gain new skills.
