    Advisor: Prof. Katsuyo Thornton (Dept. of Materials Science and Engineering)Thesis Title: Modeling Morphology Evolution for Nanostructured Electrochemical SystemsI worked in Katsuyo Thornton's computational materials science group, where I developed and implemented continuum-level multi-physics models of electrochemical systems. My graduate work focused on two systems: the electrodeposition and dissolution of magnesium for metallic magnesium battery anodes and the anodization (electrochemical oxidation) of aluminum to form self-ordered nanopores. Through these projects, I have experience developing new physical models of material processing phenomena and have experience writing custom parallelized finite-difference Fortran codes to implement those models.

I characterized the carrier recombination at the interface between the silicon and the organic film using microwave photoconductivity measurements. I also imaged the films using atomic force microscopy.
