Key activities:- Conduct investigations including developing an investigation strategy, gathering evidence including taking detailed witness statements or forensic evidence, and preparing the case file for Senior Officers and Crown Prosecution Service.- Risk assessment of high pressured and complex situations to inform strategies for warrants, arrests and intelligence gathering operations.- Gather and analyse information and intelligence to make strategic decisions to aid in achieving community safety and crime reduction objectives. - Tutor and coach trainee police officers. - Interview suspects, victims and witnesses, tailoring my approach to the individual’s needs, in order to get the best information, whist remaining compliant with relevant legislation. - Provide visible presence to deter crime and reassure the community, including completing patrol duties on foot, bike and by car. - Part of the specialist Public Order team required to keep peace at public meetings, social events, processions, strikes and sporting events, including but not limited to COP 26, Queens Funeral, the King’s Coronation and Royal Ascot.- Respond to 999 calls and requests from the public to assist at incidents.- Specially trained public order medic required to provide first response medical care.
