I directed crude and feedstock purchasing for Richmond and El Segundo refineries, optimizing supply decisions. I also led a diverse team to automate the crude buying process, enhancing scenario analysis capabilities and optimizing crude portfolio.Notable achievements are:• Collaborated with crude traders during Covid to expand refinery crude acceptance, doubling unique crudes in 2021 and increasing gross margins by $140+ million.• Initiated a team within Chevron and Deloitte to revolutionize and automate the crude buying process reducing process time from 6 hours to 30 minutes for building a crude ranking decision document.• Instructed new linear program analysts in leveraging Chevron's proprietary linear program, Petro, ensuring effective use and maximizing efficiency.• Fed 51 unique crudes on the USWC as compared to 35 in 2020 and 31 in 2017.

I supervised a team of four strategic analysts, driving impactful decision-making and strategic initiatives. I also managed future business planning activities, including stock balance and projects aimed at gross margin growth. I instructed decision analysis and management courses for USWC technical, operational, and commercial staff, enhancing team capabilities and decision quality.Few achievements are:• Spearheaded short cycle profitability initiative, generating $10M in gross margin improvement with an additional $50M projected.• Directed Coker Cold Feed line upgrade, capitalizing on IMO spec changes and integrating Richmond cut asphalt for economic Coker feedstock, worth $5MM annually and increased feedstock processing by 10 MBPD without increasing excess emissions• Increased refinery gross margin by $8M annually through optimization of the crude program and Coker utilization.

I orchestrated operational budget for hydrocracker division, ensuring long-term maintenance, project completion, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations. I also directed comprehensive safety and compliance initiatives, enhancing overall operational efficiency and safety standards within the hydrocracker division.Key achievements are:• Led three reactor catalyst change turnarounds, achieving $1MM gross margin improvement per turnaround, with no incidents or injuries among over 100 employees and contractors.• Achieved significant advancement in furnace and reactor safety by implementing an automatic depressuring system and Triconex safety instrumented systems during operations.

In my role, I supervised eight direct reports in the division overseeing Coker, Sulfur Plants, FCC, and Alkylation operations.Notable highlights:• Transformed a low-performing employee into a high-performing employee who was later promoted to lead process engineer through tailored motivational strategies and intentional assignments.• Championed initiatives generating $20 million annually by implementing Coker spall procedure, Coker propane recovery, and liquid yield project.• Redesigned Coker air preheater and optimized FCC catalyst blend, significantly improving operational efficiency.• Enhanced organizational capability by translating technical expertise into profitable outcomes within team.

I led technical effort to avert a total Coker shutdown due to a debutanizer reflux line leak, applying creative process engineering and collaborating closely with operations. I also institutionalized operational practices that prevented unplanned outages post-departure, ensuring continuous unit functionality.Highlights are:• Spearheaded an area-wide initiative to increase Coker liquid yield by 4 LV%, generating $100 MM/year in value, with 80% achieved through non-investment plant optimizations.• Designed and oversaw installation of a new heat exchanger on the de-ethanizer, boosting C3 and sulfur recovery from fuel gas and delivering a $7 MM/year gross margin improvement.
