Typical Duties and Responsibilities:* Develop and conduct a comprehensive 5-day training program for all new assistant transportation supervisors and other management employees* Develop new Transportation Standard Operating Procedures and update existing TSOPs.* Develop and present orientation presentations for new management employees* Develop and present refresher training sessions for garage management personnel * Monitor the online Employee Development program, and conduct mentoring sessions with participants* Conduct ongoing tests of the payroll/dispatching system upgrades, and recommend enhancements to the system* Participate in various task force groups to develop and implement new systems in Bus Operations* Conduct special studies on all aspects of bus operations to identify issues and improve the system* Conduct the training of garage office personnel* Develop and conduct payroll system training for field and administrative personnel* Serve as interim third step hearing officer for the Labor Relations Department

. * Was directly accountable for the overall daily operation of the assigned garage regarding the daily activities and performance of operators and field salary personnel, with an annual operating budget of 16 million dollars, and up to 280 full time and part time employees. * Monitored the performance of assigned personnel and provided counseling and disciplinary action.* Investigated and documented violations of Company rules, policies, and established procedures, conducted first step disciplinary and grievance hearings, administered disciplinary actions when appropriate, implemented corrective actions, and provided documentation of disciplinary actions administered.* Addressed operator accidents and other safety issues, and promoted safety practices which resulted in reduced collision rates.* Addressed customer complaints and concerns, both directly with the customers, and through the Customer Service Department.* Ensured the cost effective use of available manpower and other resources.* Promoted an effective union/management working relationship.* Created a positive work environment conducive to superior performance of assigned personnel
