Research on Tree Search Planning and Optimization Agents with a focus on efficient heuristic model learning using Monte Carlo rollouts for general game play.

AI Research Co Op at the Air Force Research Lab Information Directorate in Rome, New York, via Griffiss Institute, where I worked planning agents in the domain of multi-unit, multi-action strategy games. Games in this domain have an exploration space that is quite large, so effective agents need to find optimally search throughout the game tree given a certain budget of time. The techniques assume no prior learning and search in an online setting. I am advancing a state of the art approach of "width-based planning", where an agent ignores states (and all paths that stem from it) that do not provide novelty features.This pruning technique was shown to be effective, especially when in conjunction with evolutionary algorithms that look in to opponents turns.
